Speaking to the issue of finances of the cell church, at the end of his blog yesterday Joel’s question was “What has your experience been?â€. Allow me to answer that question. I invite you to share your answers also via the “comment†option below.
I phoned our administrator to verify the following: each of our cell leaders are extremely generous and faithful in giving to the work of God’s kingdom. All of them practice the tithe principle and believe in the vision for penetrating the community with the gospel. This leads me to conclude again, that the cell church method is a leader building strategy that wins the heart loyalty and finances of those leaders. Matthew 6:21, “For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.†It is not our experience YET that those attending a cell are more committed to giving than those only attending the celebrations on Sunday.
Joel points out that he has no statistical records to support his theory and I would offer a similar observation; we are a smaller cell church and are acquainted with nearly everyone personally and can testify that previous paragraph is generally true.
