Even though Paul and Silas were imprisoned for the gospel, their confinement blessed others. The jailer in charge of their custody, saw the miraculous earthquake and cried out, “What should I do to be saved?” (Acts 16:31). Paul’s answer leaves us with an important principle, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved along with your entire household.” Here are some things we can learn from this encounter:
First: There is a promise of salvation for the entire “home.” God is interested in more than individuals. He is concerned about families. And when we implement family cells, we are inviting God’s blessing and salvation to our entire family.
Second: God from the beginning has been interested in families. We can see this interest in the way God treated Abraham, Noah, etc. God is the One who longs to build up families today, and I believe He is the One stirring churches to build strong family cells.
Third: Although we need to leave room for homogeneous groups to start naturally, family cells allow us to reach entire segments of the population who are untouched by the gospel. And in the process, our families will mature and grow in love and unity.
Fourth: Families are the foundation of our society. If our families are strong and healthy, we are laying a strong foundation for our country and nation. Each cell must remember that the goal is to transform society through the gospel, and family cells are an important way to do this.

Pablo y Silas fueron encarcelados por causa del evangelio, pero este encierro logró un resultado espiritual formidable. El carcelero encargado de su custodia, viendo el milagro sucedido, les pregunta: Señores, ¿qué tengo que hacer para ser salvo? Y la respuesta de los apóstoles nos deja un gran principio: “Cree en el Señor Jesucristo y serás salvo tu y tu casa.
PRIMERO: Hay una promesa de salvación para la “casa”, para la familia, para aquellos con los que compartimos da a da. Las reuniones familiares nos permitirán con mayor facilidad acercar el mensaje del evangelio a nuestra familia.
SEGUNDO: Dios desde el principio ha estado interesado en las familias, vemos a un Abraham, a un Noe, etc, por lo tanto, las reuniones caseras en familias nos permiten seguir manteniendo ese interés de Dios, de que toda la familia sea ministrada y lleguen a experimentar la salvación y el crecimiento en el Señor.
TERCERO: Pienso que existe la oportunidad para que los segmentos homogéneos sean ministrados, pero sin lugar a dudas que el hecho de compartir en familia la Palabra nos permitirá crecer juntos y alcanzar a aquellos de nuestro OIKOS que aún no han llegado al conocimiento de Jesús.
CUARTO: Las familias son la base de nuestras sociedades y si nuestras familias son ministradas de maneras sólidas, entonces, tenemos un futuro promisorio para nuestros pases. Cada célula en el sector que se encuentre ministrando no puede perder de vista que están para transformar positivamente la sociedad y la manera cómo afectemos con el evangelio las familias nos permitirá avanzar de mejor manera.
