The cell lesson preparation is very important, and it should start several days before the actual meeting. For this reason, we provide the lessons in advance. Actually, in our case, the official “lesson guide” covers an entire quarter, and the leader acquires it at the beginning of each quarter.
We recommend every leader to prepare the lesson at least one week in advance. This involves not only reading the Bible passage but also learning the context of the passage and then getting familiar with what the biblical author is trying to say in the passage. Then, we suggest that the leader read the lesson and take notes on the questions to make sure he understands the lesson. At the Elim Church, each leader has a chance to discuss the lesson beforehand with the supervisor. This is because the leader always has a supervisory meeting between leaders and coaches before the actual cell meeting takes place. During this time, the supervisor/coach goes over the lesson and the leader is able to ask questions about the lesson. During the coaching meeting, we always have a someone give a practice “rehearsal lesson” so the leader will know how to deal with he passage. This allows the leader to have a better idea of the lesson and the biblical content.
Even though we help the leader prepare for the meeting, this doesn’t excuse the leader’s own personal preparation. He or she must pray, read the lesson, look at the questions, and personally prepare for the lesson. Each of our lessons consist of an introduction, three or four core teachings, and an application. This format is repeated week after week so that the leader will always think in terms of the introduction, body, and then application of the biblical passages. Having a clear format helps the leader develop the habit of preparing an ordered teaching on a passage from the Bible. These procedures help in the preparation of the lesson.

Preparando la enseñanza de la célula

La preparación de la lección para la célula es muy importante y debe comenzar varios das antes de la fecha de la reunión. Por esa razón, proporcionamos la gua para las lecciones con bastante anticipación. En realidad, en nuestro caso, la gua de lecciones cubre todo un trimestre y el lder la adquiere al inicio del mismo.
Recomendamos a cada lder preparar la lección con una semana de anticipación. Esto implica el leer no solamente el pasaje de la Biblia que se usará sino también el contexto en el cual se encuentra con el fin de familiarizarse con la idea global. Luego, se le sugiere leer la lección y tomar nota de las preguntas de aquellas cosas para las que quisiera una aclaración. Durante la reunión de supervisión que tendrá con su pastor de zona y con su supervisor durante la semana, podrá formular esas preguntas para aclarar sus vacos. Además, tendrá la oportunidad de escuchar a otro lder desarrollar la lección como un ensayo frente a los demás lderes de su zona. Eso le permite tener una idea más completa del sentido de la enseñanza.
Pero, todo eso, no anula la responsabilidad que el lder tiene de prepararse a solas leyendo el pasaje bblico en cuestión y revisando los puntos de la enseñanza. La misma es presentada de manera muy básica: una introducción, tres o cuatro enseñanzas centrales y una aplicación. Este formato se repite semana tras semana creando en el lder el condicionamiento para pensar en términos de introducción, cuerpo y aplicación sobre todos los pasajes de la Biblia que se enseñan. Eso, en cierta manera, ayuda para que el lder pueda desarrollar el hábito de montar una enseñanza ordenada sobre un pasaje de la Biblia. Estos procedimientos ayudan a la preparación de la lección.
