Although I have the privilege of personally knowing Pastor David Cho, Joel Comiskey, Robert Lay, Ralph Neighbor, Bill Beckham, Jim Egli, Larry Stockstill, Ben Wong, Dennis Watson, Jeff Tunnell, Steve Cordle, Rob Campbell, Harold Weitsz and so many other masters of the cell work with whom I can speak frankly about any subject, the truth is that I can only see them a few times. Joel Comiskey is the one I see most often and that means about twice a year. I visit David Cho once every two years and with the others, we only have circumstantial encounters.

However, I don’t have to wait to see them personally to learn from them. I have the great advantage of having access to their books and blogs. In them I find much information and inspiration. I have heard Joel Comiskey say the following phrase repeatedly, “steal piously.” He is referring to taking the best ideas, principles, and teachings of other masters. True to his recommendation, I have stolen much from Joel. I would say that 90% of what I teach about cells are pious robberies that I have made from these brethren in Christ. Sometimes it can be a complete topic, sometimes an idea, other times a simple phrase. The remaining 10%, I would say they are thoughts of my own, but they are born from what I hear from these brothers in their conferences.

Of course, in these conferences there are sometimes hundreds or thousands of other people. That is, it is not an exclusive privilege of mine. Thus, it depends on the interest and attention that one invests. I have also known iconic cell churches such as the Full Gospel Church in Seoul, Little Falls Center in Johannesburg, Bethany World Prayer Center in Baton Rouge, and other large cell churches in South Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, Canary Islands and South America, mainly in Brazil. In all of them, I have learned invaluable lessons that I have accumulated over the years. I have no doubt that Joel is so right in advising us to be pious thieves. That is a great advice and it is quite pious as well.

Roubar Piedosamente
