Discovering Gifts With a Whiteboard

As a cell leader I find myself in a wonderful position these days. Three weeks ago when I came to the cell gathering I had one role to play. When it came time for our witness section of our cell I was to lead the prayer over the open chair and to finalize the outreach plans for our fondue party the following week.
Two weeks ago I had no official role to play other than coming to the gathering as a participant and encourager. Because I had no part to play in my own cell group that week I was able to go to another cell I am coaching and help that cell leader by leading the Word in his cell and modeling for him.
Last week I had the responsibility to bring the refreshments to the gathering. Everyone thought I would simply stop by Walmart and buy some cookies. Instead I went to someone in another cell who has the gift of hospitality and asked her if she would make a homemade raspberry cheesecake for my cell. Of course I paid her and everyone loved the dessert.
Some of you lead cells and it seems like you end up doing all the work. One of the greatest tools I have introduced to my cell and have given to the other cell leaders to use is a whiteboard and a erasable marker. On the left hand side of the board we list all the various parts of our cell gathering. The welcome, worship, witness, Word, missions focus and refreshments. On the right hand side of the board we have next week’s gathering date.
At some point during our cell gathering we stop and ask who would like to facilitate the various aspects of next week’s cell gathering. In the early days people were hesitant to volunteer but now after doing this for a period of time the various parts get taken quickly and most of the time I have a minimal role to play.
As a leader I may give away the ministry but I never abdicate my real role, to train God’s people for the works of ministry. I lavish on encouragement and praise as people use their gifts in our cell. When I see the need to give constructive criticism I involve them in assessing how they did and how they felt and what they would do differently the next time.
I am learning so much about the people God has surrounded me with and I’m seeing some wonderful gifts being released in our midst. All it took was a whiteboard and an invitation to share in the ministry of our cell. Do whatever it takes to help the people of your cell to discover and utilize their gifts. Then you can focus on coaching, encouraging and raising some of them up as potential leaders who in turn will draw out and release the gifts of others.

Descubriendo los Dones con un Pizarrón.

Como lder de Célula me encuentro en una posición maravillosa en estos das. Hace tres semanas, cuando llegue a una reunión de célula y tena un papel que desempeñar. Cuando llegó el momento de la sección de testimonios en nuestra célula, dirig la oración al aire libre y finalicé los planes de nuestro partido “fondue” de la siguiente semana.
Hace dos semanas no tuve ningún papel a desempeñar, además de venir a la reunión como un participante y animador, por qué no tuve papel a desempeñar en mi propio grupo de Célula. Esa semana, Tuve la oportunidad de ir a otra célula donde enseño y ayudo al lder de esta célula, llevando la Palabra en su Célula y modelando para él.
La semana pasada tuve la responsabilidad de traer los refrigerios a la reunión. Todos pensaron que solo me detendra en Wal-Mart y comprara galletas. En lugar de eso fui con alguien de otra célula, que tiene el Don de Hospitalidad y le ped que si poda hacer un delicioso Pastel de frambuesa para mi célula. Por supuesto le pague y a todos le encanto el postre.
Algunos de ustedes son lderes de células y parece que tú haces todo el trabajo. Una de las grandes herramientas que he introducido a mi célula y he dado a otros lderes de células a usar es un pizarrón y un marcador borrable. En el lado izquierdo del pizarrón hacemos una lista de todas las diferentes partes de la reunión de célula. La bienvenida, la adoración, los testimonios, la Palabra, las misiones de enfoque y los refrigerios. En el lado derecho tenemos la fecha de la próxima reunión.
En un punto durante nuestra reunión de célula paramos y preguntamos ¿a quién le gustara facilitar diversos aspectos en la reunión de la semana siguiente.? En los primeros das las personas no se decidan a ser voluntarios, pero, ahora después de estar haciendo esto, por un periodo de tiempo las actividades son tomadas rápidamente y la mayora del tiempo solo tengo un papel mnimo a desempeñar.
Como lder debo dar el ministerio, pero, nunca renunciar a mi papel real, que es capacitar creyentes para el trabajo del ministerio. Yo pródigo el estmulo y alabo como los creyentes usan sus Dones en nuestra célula. Cuando veo la necesidad de dar una crtica constructiva, los envuelvo a que participen y les digo como lo hicieron, como se sintieron y que deberan hacer diferente la próxima vez.
Estoy aprendiendo mucho de los creyentes que me rodean y estoy viendo preciosos Dones ser liberados en medio de nosotros. Solo haca falta un pizarrón y una invitación de compartir en el ministerio de célula. Haz lo que sea necesario para ayudar a las personas de tu célula a descubrir y utilizar sus dones. Entonces pueden concentrarse en formación, motivación y levantar nuevos lderes potenciales, que a su vez extraerán y liberaran los Dones de otros.
