Key Principles to Successfully Transition

Reasons why transitioning can be done successfully:

1. Because you are convinced that biblically speaking the Scriptures presents clearly a Church functioning with two wings. I remember ten years ago when we decided to make the transition. I studied the Scriptures and found that the term church was used to describe the group that gathered in the home. The whole group was called the church, and the home group was called a church within the church. I had a biblical conviction about the two wings church. Do you? 2. Because you have personally received confirmation by the Lord that you need to do the change in this Church where you are. After some difficulties in another church that was not ready to make those changes, I went to the search comity of the new church and asked them if they were ready to make that kind of change. They were wholeheartedly behind. I sensed God leading me to that church. You will need too!

3. Because the whole board is equipped to make a transition in this Church. We went and took courses on how to make a transition. Then we followed the “how to” material. We began preaching values and not structures, i.e. making disciples, personal evangelism, prayer, taking care of the brothers, etc. We touched the principles before the structure. That is absolutely vital for a good transition.

4. Because the whole board counted the cost: the cost of time, of learning new skills, of losing some people. We knew from the beginning that even if we tried to make the transition as smooth as we could, we would lose people. The experience of others helped us immensely. Go and get all the successful experience of others as you can.

5. Because you are an example to the flock of these values:

We began with the board of elders, with a prototype cell. Slowly we began to reproduce. Then reproduce that prototype cell. We made a lot of mistakes, went too fast like most others, forgot to involve our wives as we should, fixed a lot of things. Seven years later we could label us a cell-church. 2. Porque tu haz recibido personalmente confirmación del Señor que necesitas hacer el cambio en esta iglesia donde te encuentras. Después de algunas dificultades en la otra iglesia que no estaba dispuesta a hacer esos cambios, me fui de búsqueda cortésmente a una nueva iglesia y les pregunte si estaban dispuestos a hacer ese tipo de cambio. Estaban dispuestos de todo corazón. Yo sent que Dios me llevó a esa iglesia. Usted lo necesitará también!

3. Porque todo el tablero está equipado para hacer una transición en esta Iglesia. Fuimos y tomamos cursos sobre cómo hacer una transición. Luego siguió el “cómo” material. Nos empezó a predicar los valores y no las estructuras, es decir, hacer discpulos, evangelismo personal, la oración, el cuidado de los hermanos, etc. Tocamos los principios antes que la estructura. Eso es absolutamente vital para una buena transición.

4. Debido a que toda la junta conto el costo: el costo del tiempo, de aprender nuevas habilidades, de perder a algunas personas. Sabamos desde el principio que, aunque hemos tratado de hacer la transición lo más suave que se pudo, perderamos gente. La experiencia de otros nos ha ayudado muchsimo. Ir a buscar todas las experiencias exitosas de otros como sea posible.

5. Debido a que son un ejemplo para el rebaño de estos valores:

Comenzamos con la junta de ancianos, con un prototipo de célula. Poco a poco comenzaron a reproducirse. Después reproducimos ese prototipo de célula. Hicimos muchos errores, fue demasiado rápido como muchos otros, se olvidó incluir a nuestras esposas como debemos, arreglamos muchas cosas. Siete años más tarde, podemos etiquetar una iglesia celular. Nos estamos ajustando constantemente y aprendiendo. Usted también!
