For your consideration today concerning the role of a host home for cells I offer this paragraph from the chapter entitled “A Theology of Paul’s Missionary Journeys” in the book, A Biblical Theology of the New Testament, by R.B. Zuck:
The local or regional church. The references to the church in these letters of Paul usually focus on a local or regional group of Christians. When these believers came together for worship, instruction, and fellowship, they apparently met in someone’s home. When, for example, Paul wrote to the Corinthians from Ephesus he passed along greetings from two former members: “Aquila and Priscilla greet you warmly in the Lord, and so does the church that meets at their house” (1 Cor. 16:19). While staying in Corinth on his third journey, he mentioned again the hospitality of these friends who were then living in Rome and were using their home once more as a meeting place for the church: “Greet Priscilla and Aquila, my fellow workers in Christ Jesus.… Greet also the church that meets at their house” (Rom. 16:3–5). Later in this letter he mentioned his host in Corinth whose home also may have been the meeting place of the church: “Gaius, whose hospitality I and the whole church here enjoy, sends you his greetings” (Romans 16:23).[1]
I also offer key passages for you to meditate upon as you think about the role of the host:
- 1 Peter 4:9 Be hospitable to one another…
- 1 Timothy 5:10 In qualifying a widow for care by the church Paul says she must have a reputation for having “washed the saints feet” which is understood as the welcoming of a guest into your home.
- Luke 19:7 Jesus was hosted by Zacchaeus, a man known to be “a sinner” and by the end of his hosting that day salvation had come to the house.
- Matthew 10:11-13 Jesus instructs his disciples to search out the “man of peace” to host them in their evangelistic travels
I would like your summaries on how these passages give us a biblical view of the host homes we need for cell groups.

Para su consideración, hoy hablare sobre el papel de la casa anfitriona para las células que ofrecen este párrafo del captulo titulado “Teologa de los viajes misioneros de Pablo”, una teologa bblica del Nuevo Testamento, por RB Zuck:
La iglesia local o regional. Las referencias a la iglesia en estas cartas de Pablo, por lo general se centran en un grupo local o regional de cristianos. Cuando estos creyentes se reunieron para el culto, enseñanza y comunión, al parecer se reunieron en la casa de alguien. Cuando, por ejemplo, Pablo escribió a los corintios desde Éfeso, él dio saludos de dos ex miembros: “Aquila y Priscila les saludo cordialmente en el Señor, y lo mismo a la iglesia que está en su casa” (1 Corintios 16:19 ) Durante su estancia en Corinto en su tercer viaje, se volvió a mencionar la hospitalidad de los amigos que estaban viviendo en Roma y estaban utilizando su casa, una vez más como un lugar de encuentro para la iglesia: “Saludo a Priscila y Aquila, colaboradores mos en Cristo Jesús. … Saludo igualmente a la iglesia que está en su casa » (Romanos 16:3-5). • 1 Pedro 4:9 Sed hospitalarios unos con otros…
• 1 Timoteo 5:10 En la calificación de una viuda para el cuidado de la iglesia, Pablo dice que ella debe tener una reputación por haber “lavado los pies de los santos”, que se entiende como la bienvenida de un huésped en su casa.
• Lucas 19:07 Jesús fue bienvenido por Zaqueo, un hombre conocido por ser “pecador”, y al final del da de ser el anfitrión, la salvación llegó a su casa.
• Mateo 10:11-13 Jesús instruye a sus discpulos a buscar al “hombre de paz” para acogerlos en sus viajes de evangelización
