Family Time

Chances are you have known at least one married couple that surprised you by their divorce. You didn’t see any friction in their relationship because it wasn’t really there. They didn’t have a major blow up, they just drifted apart. Their schedules took them in separate directions so often that they didn’t share enough common experiences to bind their lives together.

Cell groups can come apart for the same reasons.

A life-giving cell is essentially a network of relationships, It is people practicing the “one anothers” of the New Testament as they love one another, forgive one another, bear one another’s burdens.

That level of life together takes time and consistency to develop. Meeting weekly gives members the chance to grow those relationships. Of course there will be weeks that doesn’t happen due to holidays or other special events. But establishing the rhythm of weekly meeting says to the members “we really do want to grow into a spiritual family.”
