Among those from El Salvador, Christmas is the one holiday that brings families together more than any other time period. It is the time when many people travel to their hometowns to spend the day with their families. In the large cities, people visit each other, exchanging gifts and eating together.
In such an environment, Christmas is not an easy time to do cells. Usually the members of the Church have their cell the week before Christmas or right aftewards. The cell atmosphere during these holidays is very festive. The snack becomes an entire dinner, and many times cell members will organize trips to the mountains or the beach. Surprisingly, at this time of the year, the sea water is warm and pleasant.
The end of the year is also a time to determine whether the proposed goals have been achieved. For many, it’s a time of celebrating the victory of multiplication and then planning for the future.
Even though Christmas holiday is not an easy time to have the cell meeting, the cell attendance actually increases because many are thinking about Christ’s birth. Thus, the evanagelistic cell work at Elim continues without interruption.

La Navidad y las células en El Salvador.

Entre los salvadoreños la Navidad es la festividad que más une a las familias. Es la ocasión cuando muchas personas viajan a sus pueblos de origen para pasar el da junto a sus familiares. En las grandes ciudades las personas se visitan las unas a las otras llevándose regalos y comiendo juntos.
En tal ambiente, la Navidad no es una ocasión adecuada para hacer las células. Normalmente los miembros de la iglesia pueden adelantar o posponer la reunión de célula pero difcilmente la realizarán en la noche de la vspera de Navidad.
Normalmente, la reunión de célula para estas ocasiones tiene un carácter mas bien festivo. El refrigerio se convierte en una cena completa y muchas veces los miembros de la célula organizan alguna salida a la montaña o a la playa. En esta época, el agua del mar es cálida y agradable.
La reunión toma un enfoque de finalización del año. Es el momento de saber si las metas propuestas se alcanzaron. Para muchos es el momento de celebrar las multiplicaciones del año y planear el futuro.
En fin, aunque la fecha de Navidad en s misma no es una buena ocasión para realizar la reunión de célula, la época s provoca una mayor asistencia e interés por asistir. As, el trabajo de evangelización continúa sin interrupción aprovechando el espritu de recogimiento de la época.
