Time to Love

During holiday seasons, like Christmas, people are finding ways to spend time with friends, family and new acquaintances. Offices have special gatherings for thanking their employees and honoring achievements of personnel. Let’s capitalize on this “openness” by inviting our co-workers to the weekly cell meeting and then planning the time spent there in a very festive way. Sing the season’s best songs and hymns that have become famous around the world and synonymous with Christmas. Plan the theme around the manger scene or another part of the birth of Christ like the amazing prophecies given hundreds of years before, and have someone take time to read the Bible passages and give a brief explanation of the FIRST Christmas. Include the reason Jesus came to earth, to provide the sacrifice for our sins, and conclude the evening with an invitation to accept Him as Savior and join the cell family. Offer to meet them at the special services of your church on Christmas eve or Christmas Day.

Holidays are times of openness for many, and can be a time of grief for others. Facing their first holiday after the recent loss of a loved one can be particularly hard. I have performed two burial services this week for War Veterans and I can assure you that their families are not looking forward to Christmas without these fathers there. Be sensitive to these needs and pray for ways to reach into their lives with the love of God. Kindness is a fruit of the Holy Spirit, so let Him shine through you this year!!

John 13:35, “By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Romans 13:10, “Own no man anything, but to love him.”

Tiempo de amar

Durante las temporadas de vacaciones, como Navidad, la gente ha encontrado maneras de pasar tiempo con amigos, familiares y conocidos. Las oficinas tienen reuniones especiales para agradecer a sus empleados y honrar los logros del personal. Vamos a aprovechar esta “apertura” al invitar a nuestros compañeros de trabajo de la reunión semanal de la célula y luego planificar el tiempo que pasó all de un modo muy festivo. Canta las mejores canciones de la temporada y los himnos que se han hecho famosos en todo el mundo en sinónimo de Navidad. Planifica el tema alrededor del pesebre o en otra parte el nacimiento de Cristo y las sorprendentes profecas dadas cientos de años antes, y que alguien tome tiempo para leer los pasajes de la Biblia y dar una breve explicación de la primera Navidad. Incluya la razón por la que Jesús vino a la tierra, para ofrecer el sacrificio por nuestros pecados, y concluye la noche con una invitación para que  lo acepte como Salvador y se una a la familia de la célula. Ofrezca reunirse con ellos en los servicios especiales de su iglesia en Nochebuena o el da de Navidad.

Las vacaciones son tiempos de apertura, para muchos, y puede ser un momento de dolor para los demás. Enfrentando las primeras vacaciones después de una reciente pérdida de un ser querido puede ser particularmente difcil. He realizado dos servicios funerarios esta semana para los veteranos de guerra y les puedo asegurar que sus familias no están esperando la Navidad sin estos padres. Ser sensibles a estas necesidades y orar por maneras de llegar a sus vidas con el amor de Dios. La bondad es un fruto del Espritu Santo, ¡as que vamos a brillar a través de ustedes este año!
