When setting goals, it’s essential to determine the context. In many parts of the world, God is moving, people are being saved, and more are willing to lead cells. In other part of the world (like most of the Western world), people are secular, busy, and revival is not taking place. I coach pastors in both situations, and I have to keep this in mind when setting multiplication goals.
Keeping the context in mind, it is still possible to set the bar too high or too low. Yes. I have personally erred in the past on promoting goals that were too high. I was over enthusiastic on rapid multiplication dates. I noticed that while the cells did multiply, some were weak and disappeared soon after. I’ve learned from experience that it’s possible to multiply too rapidly before the natural fruit of evangelism and community have borne enough health to naturally multiply.
At the same time, some pastors are not proactive. They lack vision and are very doubtful. They don’t actively prepare new people, hoping that “already formed leaders” will suddenly appear. They don’t challenge the cell leaders to dream big, evangelize, spot the next potential leader, and move forward.
What is the balance? Only you, pastor, know the state of your flocks and the context where you find your church. Only you know the work you’ve already done to plow the cell ground and which groups are able to give birth. Although all churches should move forward, the pace of that forward movement varies widely.

La Tendencia de Establecer Metas altas o Bajas

Al establecer metas, es esencial determinar el contexto. En muchas partes del mundo, Dios se está moviendo, las almas están siendo salvas, y hay más que están dispuestos a ser lderes celulares. En otra parte del mundo (como el mundo occidental), la gente es secular, ocupados, y el renacimiento no está teniendo lugar. Yo entreno a los pastores en ambos tipos de culturas, y tengo que mantener esto en mente al establecer las metas de multiplicación.
Manteniendo el contexto en mente, todava es posible fijar la barra muy alta o muy baja. S. Yo personalmente he cometido un error en el pasado en la promoción de objetivos que eran muy altos. Yo era demasiado entusiasta en las fechas de multiplicación cumpliéndolas. Me di cuenta de que mientras las células se multiplicaron, algunas eran débiles y desaparecieron poco después. He aprendido por experiencia que es posible la multiplicación muy rápidamente antes de que el fruto natural de la evangelización y de la comunidad haya dado la salud suficiente para multiplicarse de forma natural.
Al mismo tiempo, algunos pastores no son proactivos. Carecen de visión y son muy dudosos. No preparan activamente a la gente nueva, con la esperanza de que “los lderes ya formados” aparezcan de repente. Ellos no desafan a los lderes celulares a soñar en grande, evangelizar, detectar el posible lder que viene, y seguir adelante.
¿Cuál es el balance? Sólo usted, pastor, conoce el estado de sus ovejas y el contexto donde se encuentra su iglesia. Sólo tú sabes el trabajo que has hecho cuando araste la tierra para tus células y que los grupos son capaces de dar a luz. Si bien todas las iglesias deben seguir adelante, el ritmo de ese movimiento es muy variable.
