Sometimes cell leaders say, “I don’t have an apprentice leader in my group, but there isn’t anyone who can do it.”

New leaders don’t just appear We do not find leaders, we make them. We don’t wait for new leaders to volunteer, we create them.

Alright, we can’t manufacture leaders like widgets, but we can intentionally develop people so that they become disciple makers themselves. Every leader started somewhere – why not in your group?

Look at each member in your group as a future leader, and then ask the Lord to show you who is the next person you are to develop. Who is closest to become a new leader?

Look for someone who

1. Has a habit of saying “yes” to Jesus. The person may not have the most biblical knowledge in the group, but he wants to grow and has an obedience orientation.
2. Faithfulness to the group; Does she show up to the group regularly and fulfill anything ministry assignments she gets?
3. Commitment to the vision of the church. Cell leaders have delegated pastoral authority. Someone who does not agree with the church’s values cannot be a group leader.
4. Loves well- love covers a multitude of leadership inadequacies.

The Lord uses unlikely people, ask him to reveal who your next leader will be.

Tu próximo lder

A veces los lderes de los grupos celulares dicen: “Yo no tengo un lder aprendiz en mi grupo, y no hay nadie que lo pueda hacer.”

Los nuevos lderes no aparecen de repente, no encontramos lderes, los hacemos. No esperamos a que los nuevos lderes sean voluntarios, los creamos.

Muy bien, no podemos fabricar lderes como los accesorios, pero intencionalmente se pueden desarrollar las personas para que sean los propios hacedores de discpulos. Cada lder comenzó en alguna parte – ¿por qué no en tu grupo?

Mira a cada miembro de tu grupo como un futuro lder, y después, pide al Señor que te muestre quien es la siguiente persona en desarrollo. ¿Quién está más cerca de convertirse en un nuevo lder?

Busque a alguien que:

1. Tenga la costumbre de decir “s” a Jesús. La persona puede no tener el conocimiento más bblico en el grupo, pero quiere crecer y tiene una orientación de obediencia.

2. La fidelidad al grupo, ¿Si se presentan al grupo de forma regular y cumplen con las asignaciones que recibe de cualquier ministerio?

3. El Compromiso con la visión de la iglesia. Los lderes de células han delegado su autoridad pastoral. Alguien que no está de acuerdo con los valores de la iglesia no puede ser un lder del grupo.

4. Amar bien cubre una multitud de las deficiencias de liderazgo.

El Señor usa a la gente no deseada, pdele que revele quién será tu próximo lder.

I am intrigued by Jesus’ example of discipling the twelve, but investing more in the three, Peter, James and John.  While He sought to reproduce Himself in the lives of the twelve, He allowed the three to participate in His earthly ministry in more significant ways.

The brilliance of the cell model is that, we too, gather in larger groups of 8-12 weekly.  We dig into God’s Word and challenge one another to apply it in our lives, to become more like Christ.  We pray for one another and learn to love one another.  Meanwhile, the Lord often puts one or two people on our hearts to connect with more deeply.  He gives us a desire to get to know them better and we get together outside of group time.  We are then praying for them more specifically and are able to pour into them more intentionally.  We find ourselves asking God to give us eyes to see what He sees, recognizing gifts and talents and encouraging them to be used in the context of the cell.

The Spirit-led relational work combined with a plan and a structure within our church context for making disciples is the key.  I am always intrigued and encouraged when I read about the training tracks from different cell churches.  The network of JCG offers so many valuable resources and experiences from which readers can learn.  Reading about what has worked and different challenges that were overcome and how to articulate clear goals and objectives in so instructive.

¿Qué se necesita para formar nuevos discpulos?

Estoy intrigado por el ejemplo de Jesús de discipular a los doce, pero invirtiendo más en tres, Pedro, Santiago y Juan. Aunque buscó reproducirse a s mismo en las vidas de los doce, le permitió a los tres participar en su ministerio terrenal de manera más significativa.

La brillantez del modelo de celular es que, también nosotros, nos reunimos en grupos grandes de 8-12 semanas. Escarbamos en la Palabra de Dios y desafiamos unos a otros para aplicarlo en nuestras vidas, para ser más como Cristo. Oramos unos por los otros y aprendemos a amarnos unos a otros. Mientras tanto, el Señor muchas veces pone una o dos personas en nuestros corazones para conectarnos con mayor profundidad. Él nos da el deseo de llegar a conocerlos mejor y nos reunimos con ellos fuera del grupo. Entonces estamos orando por ellos especficamente y somos capaces de entrar en ellos más intencionalmente. Nos encontramos pidiéndole a Dios que nos dé ojos para ver lo que Él ve, el reconocimiento de los dones y talentos y los entusiasmamos a la utilización en el contexto de la célula.

El Espritu gua trabajo relacional y combina con su plan y una estructura dentro de nuestro contexto de iglesia para hacer discpulos que es la clave. Siempre me intrigó y alentó cuando leo acerca de las pistas de entrenamiento de las iglesias celulares. La red de JCG ofrece valiosos recursos y muchas experiencias de las cuales los lectores pueden aprender. Leyendo sobre lo que ha funcionado y los diferentes retos que fueron superados y cómo articular las metas y objetivos claros es algo instructivo.

One challenging part of discipleship is gaining the cooperation of the prospective disciple.  Somewhere between the invitation to

followership and making real progress, enters the “free will” of the one being called into the discipling relationship.  In an independent culture, individuals have a predetermined inclination to participate only in things they deem best for themselves and any concept of discipleship may be lacking.  When they hit a difficult place of personal growth that is painful, they are tempted to walk away. (John 6:66-68)

The warm and encouraging environment of community life (cell) provides an atmosphere that can overcome the individual’s independent inclination.  Seeing others grow and face their challenges with the assistance of friends who also follow Christ will boost confidence in discipleship.  Observing the Holy Spirit’s maturing presence in others naturally causes a disciple to hunger and thirst for righteousness also.

Acknowledge those presently in the Training Track in front of the ones who still need to enter a discipleship process.  Show the cell group that everyone can benefit from the equipping provided and watch God place His hand on the new leaders as they find their place in His Body.  Knowing how many are in the training track throughout your organization is key to launching new cell groups.  Help each one develop a passion for souls as they move through the steps of discipleship, so when they have completed the course for leadership they can become fruitful in His kingdom.

Fructferos en Su Reino

Una parte desafiante del discipulado es obtener la cooperación del discpulo prospecto. En algún lugar entre la invitación a los seguidores y hacer un progreso real, entra el “libre albedro” del que se está llamado a la relación del discipulado. En una cultura independiente, las personas tienen una inclinación determinada a participar sólo en las cosas que mejor considere para s mismos y cualquier concepto de discipulado puede faltar. El cálido ambiente y alentador de la vida comunitaria (célula) ofrece una atmósfera que puede vencer la inclinación independiente del individuo. Al ver a otros a crecer y enfrentar sus retos con la ayuda de amigos que también siguen a Cristo, aumentará la confianza en el discipulado. Observando la presencia de la maduración del Espritu Santo en los demás, naturalmente, causa al discpulo hambre y sed de justicia.

El reconocer actualmente a aquellos en la pista de entrenamiento frente a los que todava tienen que entrar en un proceso de discipulado. Muestra al grupo de células que todos puedan beneficiarse de la dotación prevista y ver que Dios ponga su mano sobre los nuevos lderes, ya que ellos encuentran su lugar en su cuerpo. Saber cuántos hay en la pista de entrenamiento en toda la organización es la clave para el lanzamiento de nuevos grupos de células. Esto ayuda a cada uno a desarrollar una pasión por las almas a medida que avanzan por los pasos del discipulado, por lo que cuando hayan terminado el curso de liderazgo pueda llegar a ser fructferos en su Reino.

When Jesus told His disciples to make new disciples in Matthew 28:18-20, he envisioned that they would follow the process he had already modeled to them. After all, he had lived with these men in a small group. In the process, the twelve discovered that community can be a difficult place to mask limitations, egotism, ignorance, and jealousies. Slowly, very slowly, these men recognized they must abandon their competitive lifestyles. The greatest among them would be the one who would become the servant of all.

Christ’s ministry mainly operated out of homes, not formal buildings (Mark 2:1; 7:14-27; 9:33; 10:2-12; Matthew 13:36). We see Him in the homes of Peter, Matthew, a ruler, Simon the leper, Simon and Andrew, Levi, a Pharisee, Jairus, Zacchaeus, and Martha. He referred to the owner of a home in Jerusalem who would consider his upper room Jesus’ “guest room” (Mark 14:14).

The home atmosphere, group interaction, and applicable teaching were the three ingredients that prepared Christ’s disciples to transform the world and lead the early church. The disciples continued the process house to house and in the temple courts (Acts 2:42-46; 5:42).

God continues to use the cell based church to make new disciples today. The cell is the womb where disciples develop. Celebration enhances the process. Cell training prepares the new disciple for battle.

Cómo Cristo moldeo a los Discpulos

Cuando Jesús dijo a sus discpulos a hagan nuevos discpulos en Mateo 28:18-20, imaginó que iban a seguir el proceso que el tenia listo para moldearlos a ellos. Después de todo, haba vivido con estos hombres en un grupo pequeño. En el proceso, los doce descubrieron que la comunidad puede ser un lugar difcil para enmascarar limitaciones, el egosmo, la ignorancia, y los celos. Despacio, muy despacio, estos hombres reconocieron que deben abandonar su competitivo estilo de vida. El mayor de ellos sera el que se convertira en el servidor de todos.

El ministerio de Cristo, operado principalmente fuera de los hogares, los edificios no formales (Marcos 2:1; 7:14-27; 9:33; 10:2-12, Mateo 13:36). Lo vemos a él en las casas de Pedro, Mateo, un regidor, Simón el leproso, Simón y Andrés, Levi, un fariseo, Jairo, Zaqueo, y Marta. Se refirió al propietario de una casa en Jerusalén, que considera la habitación de Jesús “cuarto de invitado” (Marcos 14:14).

El ambiente familiar, la interacción del grupo, y la enseñanza de aplicación fueron los tres ingredientes que prepararon los discpulos de Cristo para transformar el mundo y llevar a la iglesia primitiva. Los discpulos continuaron de casa en casa el proceso y en el curso del templo (Hechos 2:42-46; 5:42).

Dios sigue usando a la iglesia basada en células para hacer nuevos discpulos en la actualidad. La célula es la matriz donde los discpulos desarrollan. Celebración mejora el proceso. La formación de la célula prepara los nuevos discpulos para la batalla.

The main task of cell ministry is to make disciples of Christ. The goal is not just evangelism. That is an important part, but the ultimate goal is to make each new believer a disciple of Jesus. Indeed, the cell model becomes untenable if the goal of making disciples is not achieved since without disciples there are no leaders. Leaders are all disciples of Jesus.

The cell work is in itself a cycle that feeds itself. Each disciple becomes a cell leader. Each cell that is opened means more people reached with the gospel. With more people reached, there is a greater possibility of conversions. With the greater number of conversions, there is a greater possibility of more disciples. With more disciples, there are more cells. And so the cycle continues indefinitely feeding itself.

The theme of discipleship is often the weakest link in that cycle. When you neglect making disciples, the chain breaks and the work stagnates. Therefore, we must never lose sight of the fact that the cell work is supported through discipleship. The key to the cell work is found in that effort. It is the means and the end at the same time. It is the same goal that Jesus had (Matthew 28:18-20).

Células y discipulado

El elemento central del trabajo con células es el hacer discpulos de Cristo. La meta no es solamente la evangelización. Esa es una parte importante, pero la meta final es hacer de cada nuevo creyente un discpulo de Jesús. En verdad, el modelo celular se vuelve insostenible si no se alcanza la meta de hacer discpulos ya que sin discpulos no hay lderes. Los lderes son todos discpulos de Jesús.

El trabajo celular es en s mismo un ciclo que se alimenta a s mismo. Cada discpulo se convierte en un lder de célula. Cada célula que se abre significa más personas alcanzadas con el evangelio. A mayor número de personas alcanzadas, mayor cantidad de conversiones. A mayor cantidad de conversiones, más discpulos. A mayor cantidad de discpulos, nuevas células. Y, as, el ciclo continúa alimentándose de manera indefinida.

El eslabón más débil dentro de ese ciclo suele ser el tema del discipulado. Cuando el hacer discpulos se descuida, la cadena se rompe y el trabajo se estanca. Por ello, nunca se debe perder de vista el hecho que el trabajo celular se sostiene por medio del discipulado. En ese esfuerzo se encuentra la clave del trabajo con células. Es el medio y el fin al mismo tiempo. El mismo medio y el mismo fin de Jesús.
