Christians spend at least a third of their lives at their jobs (the time spent at work compares to time spent sleeping. We do a lot of it!). However, Christians often view their workplace as an obstacle that drives them away from their relationship with God, or as an impediment to serving the Lord. In doing so, they ignore the enormous opportunity they have to share the good news with their co-workers and bosses.
Paul won Aquila and Priscilla while working in tent-making trade. The long working hours were diligently used by the apostle to present Jesus as the Messiah. Granted, in some work environments, employees are not allowed to talk about religion. But we must not forget that the most eloquent message that Christians have is not words but deeds. An action weighs more than a thousand words.
Christians can enlighten their fellow coworkers in a very profound way by a godly life and eventually lead them to the gospel. This is achieved through service and acts of love. If every Christian were trained to shine in their workplace and to serve their neighbors with passion, soon we would have the most colossal missionary force on the planet.
And then it’s only a small step from ministry on the job to invitation to the cell.

El Trabajo Como Campo Misionero

Los cristianos pasan, al menos, un tercio de su vida en el trabajo. Al igual que el dormir es la actividad en la cual invierten más de su vida. No obstante, continúan viendo su lugar de trabajo como un obstáculo que les aleja de su relación con Dios o como un impedimento para el servicio a su Señor. Con ello, ignoran la enorme oportunidad que tienen de compartir las buenas nuevas con sus compañeros de trabajo y sus jefes.
Pablo ganó el matrimonio de Aquila y Priscila mientras trabajaban en su oficio de hacer tiendas. Las largas horas de labor fueron diligentemente utilizadas por el apóstol para presentarles a Jesús como el Mesas que haba llegado. A ello se puede argumentar que de acuerdo a algunas normas de trabajo, no es permitido a los empleados hablar de religión. Pero, no se debe olvidar que el mensaje más elocuente con que cuentan los cristianos no es el de las palabras sino el de los hechos. Una acción pesa más que mil palabras.
Con su conducta los cristianos pueden iluminar a sus compañeros de manera muy profunda y conducirles al evangelio. Esto se logra por medio del servicio. Por actos de amor. Si cada cristiano fuera discipulado para brillar en el lugar donde se encuentra y entrenado para servir con pasión a su prójimo, pronto tendramos la fuerza misionera más colosal sobre el planeta. Del trabajo a la célula ya solamente existe un paso muy pequeño.
