One of the most effective and respected pastors that I know once stated,
“Everybody on the planet is starving for three things. Everybody is starving for understanding, everybody is starving for encouragement, and everybody is starving for affection. When you give those three things to a little child or a senior citizen or anybody in between, you are fulfilling the mission of God. You are blessing other people. You are blessing them the way Jesus would bless people. You give them a look, a word and a touch.â€
Let’s concentrate briefly on encouragement. The scriptures state, “Encourage one another†OR “Spur one another on.†Encouragement means to inspire courage, spirit and confidence. The consistent practice of encouraging others is desperately needed in your church family. I trust that encouragement is a strong fiber in the DNA of the church where you serve.
We know that God is the “lifter of our head.†He will use you to see that discouraged, lonely and fearful cell leader experience a “lifted head.†Take the opportunity to encourage. You will be putting healthy deposits into your leaders’ hearts that they will not soon forget.
Many of our cell leaders are working 40-50 hours/week, raising families, doing their best to make ends meet, AND shepherding a group of 5-15 people (maybe more!). They are the backbone of the church. It’s imperative that they serve with a healthy heart. Encouraging them consistently and sincerely will put a wind in their sail.
As a reminder, please know that the practice of encouraging others is contagious. Once it begins, an encouragement explosion will be released in the cell and church.
A few years ago, I bought an actual pair of spurs (like what a cowboy would use to“encourage†his horse to do thus and so) for one of my leaders. I was commending him for his gift of encouragement. He wore those spurs to Celebration the very next Sunday. He was stoked over the gift.
I have an antique spur in my office that I bought a few years ago in Cuzco, Peru. A friend framed it for me. With that said, go and buy you a pair of spurs AND place them in a prominent place in your home or office.
They will remind you to “spur one another on.â€

“Compre algunas espuelas”

Usted está bendiciendo la manera en que Jesús bendijo a su gente. Les das una mirada, una palabra y un toque”.
Vamos a concentrarnos brevemente en el estmulo. Las escrituras, “Anmense los unos a otros.” Animar significa inspirar coraje, espritu y confianza. La práctica constante de animar a otras personas es necesaria en la familia de la iglesia. Confo en que el anma es una fuerte fibra en el ADN de la iglesia en la que usted sirve.
Sabemos que Dios es el “levantador de nuestra cabeza”. Él te usará para ver el desaliento, soledad y terrible experiencia de lder celular para “levantar tu cabeza”. Toma la oportunidad para animarte. Usted va a poner depósitos saludables en los corazones de sus lderes, lo cuales ellos no olvidaran rápidamente.

Hace unos años atrás, me compré un par de espuelas (como lo que un vaquero usara para “alentar” a su caballo para hacer esto o aquello) para uno de mis lderes. Le estaba felicitando por su don de ánimo. Él se puso esas espuelas el próximo domingo. Él estaba contento con el regalo.
Tengo una espuela antigua en mi oficina que me compré hace unos años atrás en Cuzco, Perú. Un amigo lo enmarcado para m. Con eso dicho, ve y comprar un par de espuelas y colócalos en un lugar prominente en tu hogar u oficina.
