Thoughts

Where is your place where you think most deeply? Perhaps for you this is your office, the kitchen table, a chair in the corner of your bedroom, or a garden setting in solitude, Sitting in the place where I have my deepest devotional thoughts, I inquire of myself and God, “What can I do to sincerely be the best ministry leader for my people?”  “They need to be challenged to live lives worthy of their callings, lives that derive from and demonstrate their indwelling Savior; lives that stand opposed to the schemes of the world, yet effectively salt it regularly.”  “Where will I lead them and how will I lead them so that they do not wilt and tire in the journey?”

I must call them into deep commitment to Christ, without equating that call to activities in church programs.  I must not overload them with my own progrmas that would compromise their time in serving the King.  For example, Brother Lawrence, the 17th century Carmelite monk, wrote that while living in the monastery he practiced the presence of God continually. He would do this everyday, conversing with God during all of his activities.  Each day, the monks were required to stop what they were doing and return to their rooms to spend an hour with God in prayer and solitude.  For Brother Lawrence this was the greatest interruption in his regular conversations with God; prayer suddenly became "official," rather than ordinary– programmatic rather than practical and productive.

As I pray and seek the Lord, God challenges me to inspire believers to live in community (cells), gather those communities for corporate worship (celebration), receive the equipping of the saints, grow to maturity in the presence of fellow believers and pervade the world around them with the Light of Jesus as a natural outflow.  All of that easily and beautifully replaces obedience to overbearing requirements to perform endless programs that waste as much time as they do the lives of those who serve them.

Leaving the place meditation, I resolve to lead others toward life-producing activities.  I will not sacrifice their lives on the altar of program production.  My time will be spent inspiring people to draw life from Christ within and live that life outwardly for the sake of His kingdom.

Pensamentos

Good morning and the peace of Christ,
I’m flattered to be in this group. Congratulations on disseminate the teachings of meetings in cells. We are implementing this growth mode in the church where I pastor President, here in Brazil. I have no doubt that through the cells we gain a church growth with quality.
The mobile model is the biblical model, applied by Jesus and the apostles in the first century. The Roman church changed this focus, with the type of services strictly in the temples. Meeting in the temples there to celebrate God. Discipleship, evangelism, spiritual growth occur in cells.
Therefore, it is necessary to maintain the focus on the goal to strengthen the implementation of the cells in the church, as many still has within it the traditional model (Roman Apostolic) Church. The transition in the church should happen to gently but steadily, with the revelation and sharing the mission to the leaders who support and at the same time ready for the criticism of those who still do not understand the cell vision. With time and discipline success will come, so most of the brothers will be convinced that cell is the Lord Jesus for His church strategy.
    Grace and Peace!
    Pastor Charles
