Resourcing the Worldwide Cell Church

In November 2003, I gathered with Buddy Lindsay, Rob Campbell, and Steve Cordle in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to plot out a non-profit ministry which we first called Cell Church Solutions and later changed to Joel Comiskey Group (JCG) in 2006. From the very first meeting, we envisioned that our new ministry would be a tool for resourcing the worldwide cell church through books, articles, coaching, and seminars.

The vision of JCG is the same in 2016, but it is now clearer and deeper. We are more biblically based than in 2003 and have realized that the true motivation for cell ministry is Scripture. JCG is much more intentional today about making disciples who make disciples. We’ve understood in a new way how Jesus made disciples in a small group, sent out his own disciples to make more groups of disciples in homes, and laid the ground work for house to house ministry (and public gatherings) in the New Testament Church. We at JCG want to equip the worldwide church to return to the Jesus strategy of making disciples in small groups.

In 2016, we continue to resource the body of Christ in cell based ministry, whether that means helping start new cell churches, fine-tune existing ones, or helping traditional churches make the cell church transition. In a nutshell, JCG has the vision and mission to equip the worldwide cell church movement through blogs, newsletters, books, coaching, and seminars.

Yet because our vision is deeper and richer in 2016, we felt that a re-branding or re-envisioning of our ministry would better reflect who we are today and better project us into the future. As part of that re-branding effort, we took a look at our previous logo and felt that we needed a new logo that would better communicate our intention to resource the body of Christ. We also felt that a new website would make it easier for people to find those resources as well as attracting a younger generation to cell ministry concepts. Our new website will also be mobile friendly to take advantage of people browsing the web on their cell phones and tablets.

We’ll be unveiling our new logo and website in English and Spanish on February 27, 2016, the day we have our major JCG conference in Reseda, California. During the entire month of February, we want to build up to that unveiling, reflecting on what it means to resource the worldwide cell church movement. Cell church pastors and leaders will blog on resourcing the worldwide cell church throughout the month of February. If you’d like to receive these blogs in your email inbox each day, please sign up HERE. Here are some of the topics we will cover:

  • Week 1 (February 07-13). The need for resourcing the body of Christ in cell ministry and the part that JCG is playing around the world.
  • Week 2 (February 14-20). How people are being helped through JCG and how the newsletters, blogs, articles, coaching, books, and seminars are helping equip the church around the world.
  • Week 3 (February 21-27). The need for re-branding to refocus on our vision. This includes a new website design and logo that reflects our deeper focus.
  • Week 4 (February 28-March 05). Unveiling our new website and encouragement for people to check it out.
