Recently the school where I attended high school (in Europe), sent out a picture of a beloved former teacher standing next to Steve Ballmer, CEO of Microsoft. It turns out that Steve attended elementary school there many years ago. Mr. Ballmer was showing his former teacher some of Microsoft’s newest products at his company’s headquarters.
Imagine the thoughts of his teacher; “I used to teach you how to add and subtract, and now you run one of the most powerful companies in the world.†That would be a rewarding experience for any teacher!
Our group leaders will never get to see the true impact of their ministry on the lives of others until they get to heaven. That’s when the results will become visible.
The Bible speaks about rewards in heaven, but we don’t know very much about them. I can imagine, though, one of the most rewarding experiences will be seeing how God has enabled us to play a part in the lives of the people we see fully mature in the presence of Jesus.
The pull of earthly concerns and demands on our leaders is very real. Remembering the eternal perspective makes the effort seem more worthwhile. How do you help your leaders remember the rewards of heaven?

Recientemente, la escuela donde asist a la secundaria (en Europa), envió una foto de un querido maestro junto a Steve Ballmer, CEO de Microsoft. Resulta que Steve asistió a esta escuela en la primaria hace muchos años. Sr. Ballmer estaba mostrando su antiguo maestro algunos de los nuevos productos de Microsoft en la sede de su empresa.
Imagina los pensamientos de su maestro: “Yo te enseñé a sumar y restar, y ahora tu eres el Jefe de una de las empresas más poderosas del mundo.” ¡Eso sera una experiencia gratificante para cualquier profesor!
Nuestros lderes de grupo nunca llegaran a ver el verdadero impacto de su ministerio en la vida de los demás hasta que lleguemos al cielo. Ah será cuando los resultados serán visibles.
La Biblia habla de recompensas en el cielo, pero no sabemos mucho sobre ellos. Puedo imaginar, una de las experiencias más gratificantes es ver cómo Dios nos ha permitido jugar un papel importante en las vidas de la gente que vemos completamente maduros en la presencia de Jesús.
El tirón de las preocupaciones terrenales y las demandas en nuestros lderes es muy real. Recordando la perspectiva eterna hace que el esfuerzo parezca más valioso. ¿Cómo puedes ayudar a tus lderes recordar las recompensas del cielo?
